RE: Colder than the North Pole...the silver lining, memoirs of a frozen ladybug

I'm not much of a fan of the cold, but it certainly is pretty. That ice clastle looks like a great place for some photos! Will they be able to reconstruct the parts that were damaged by the warm temps?

Rochester, Minnesota has a "Social Ice" event this weekend. It's basically a bunch of ice sculptures with lights on a pedestrian mall with bars selling drinks. The last time I went, temperatures hit 45 degrees and blocks of ice were falling off the lights and people had to look out!

OMG sounds dangerous! But a cool idea when it's not melting ! it would work here, an ice bar(s)... We have quite a few winter festivals here, something every week. I Imagine with this sorta cold they will fix the castle in no time, they have an icicle farm always going when it's cold like this because they can really expand it with strong solid ice because it freezes so fast. This year they also build ice over scaffolding for the slides so they can be higher and a solid structure to rebuild on. The ice castles are really cool and almost surreal when you realize you are in a structure made with millions of pounds of ice.
