Hello, fellow Steemians!

I've seen a lot of posts, lately, where the "author" grabs images from the web. Sometimes they don't even add text to their post, just inserting several amazing photos they found online. Very few such posts ever give credit to the photographer or site the image comes from.

About a month ago, I mentioned in the comments to one such post that they should credit the photographer. The response? I was informed that the photos were from Google image search, and Google already gets enough credit. In other words, the poster believed that it was alright to steal images that show up on Google search without even giving credit. My own copyrighted photos show up on Google searches.

Why does this matter? Most photographers, like authors, copyright their images to protect their work. Using these images without permission, especially for personal financial gain, is illegal for a reason. The photographer is not paid or even identified, and so gets nothing for his or her work while the poster reaps the rewards.

Please respect others' creativity!

To my followers: More photography coming soon, I promise!

Thanks,

@fotosdenada
