Top Landmark In Lisbon: Belem Tower

The moment you step out of the Tram in Belem it feels like you're in a different city but Belem is technically a parish of Lisbon. It must be the sweet smell of Pastel da nata from the nearby famous bakery or because of all the impressive sights surrounding you like the like the Jerónimos Monastery or the Royal Palace which we visited the week before.

It was a clear but chilly winter day and we decided to start our excursion at the Jardim Ducla Soares, from there you get a stunning view of the tower down the hell. Walking down the hill we passed many beautiful mansion and then at the end oft he Avenida you'll finally get to admire the details of the Belem Tower. It's a masterpiece of Manueline, which is a Portuguese style of Gothic architecture.

I couldn't stop taking videos and pictures, this place is straight of a fairy tail and I bet Rapunzel would have refused to be saved by the prince.

We were here in the winter but I've seen pictures of of the lines in the summer. The inside is beautiful to but even when we visited the sheere amount of people was rather annoying, save the money and have a drink at one of the nearby cafes and admire the tower from the outside.
