N.16 Pilote
#16 Pilote, a french magazine issued in 1975.
It's the year of heavy unemployment. Inflation is over 15% and at least a million across France lost their jobs in the industrial sector. Then prime minister Jaques Chirac is attempting to jump-start the economy with a plan costing 2,6% of France GDP (around 35 billion US) resulting in stabilization but huge capital drain by paying for all imports.
A few terrorist attacks are also taking place inside the country while a wave of martial arts culture is taking over Europe by storm. In a talk to the nation, President Giscard d'Estaing says that France is a "middle power" thus, alienating the pride given by De Gaulle in a speech in 1954. "France is herself, only at the forefront".
An add to order a free sample of Samson tobacco.
It reads "And with all your ten fingers, what can you do? Well if you're not afraid of cramps, try rolling your own cigarettes like a grown-up. We provide Samson. Real rich flavorful dutch tobacco, fresh in it's blue plastic bag. You provide the saliva, and you can show your buddies how it's done."
"Samson, because the strongest is always the best. "
It is.
Peace out.
