Interesting Places in Austria – Bad Gastein
I was really lucky this year and had a lot of holidays and time to travel and visit beautiful places in Austria, in Greece and in Rome / Italy. The second holiday this summer took me and a friend of mine to Mittersil, from there we visited beautiful places like the Großglockner, Innsbruck, Zell am See and Kaprun, Krimml, the Alpenzoo in Ferleiten and also Bad Gastein, wich is a popular Spa in Austria. I’ll definitely post some pictures of this holiday here on Steemit.

In Bad Gastein you can visit a beautiful waterfall and a hydropowerplant directly underneath it. I like the scene of th waterfall very much because it is directly embedded in the Cityscape and a hotel is built right above it. Stefan a friend of mine and I stayed in Bad Gastein for some hours to take pictures of the waterfall and the small town. The waterfall has 3 steps and the water is traveling about 340 meters downwards.

Good Water Quality
Gastein is also known for a mineral water you can get in Austria because they have very good water quality in the mineral water and of course also in the Spa. A small advice from me, buy the Salzburg Land Card if you plan to visit different Places in the region of Salzburg. It saved us a lot of money because there where different things included on this card. For example the Entry into the Spa, the Entry for the Krimmler Waterfalls, the “Großglockner Hochalpenstraße” and many other different places give you free entry or a discount if you bought the card. It’s definitely useful if you plan to visit different places in the provice of Salzburg.

Well known for Skiing and the Spa
In winter Gastein is a very popular destination for skiers from all over the world. Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein have a good location between the Alps and there are many skiing tracks to choose from. One of the advantages of Gastein is you can have a nice day skiing in the alps and afterwards you can visit the spa for relaxing in the warm water. In Gastein ther is also one of the few "healing greats" in this world, it is a mine underneath Gastein where there is a temperature from 37 to 42 degree celsius. My mother visits this healing great every year.
