Bixby Creek Bridge in Big Sur California [OC][5184x3456]

I was sleeping in my camper parked on a side street in San Francisco last night. I was woken up around 2:40am and the entire camper was rocking back and forth. I racked my head around what was going on and concluded someone had to be outside messing with the camper, pushing it back and forth. I looked out every window, nothing, no people in sight, no active cars, nothing. I went outside, nothing. I thought, maybe it was the wind, but it just didn’t make any sense. I wondered about it and fell back asleep. It turns out a 4.4 magnitude earthquake hit last night! It’s all over the news this morning and I am very relieved to figure out that no one was messing with my camper in the middle of the night.
Anyway, about the photo...
Big Sur in California is home to some of the most scenic coastline that the USA has to offer. There are thousands of photos of this bridge online but just about all of them are from the viewing lot just north of the bridge. This angle from a hill just south of the bridge is a lot less common to shoot. This bridge is not really in Big Sur even though it is commonly associated with it. Big Sur is the name of a city several miles south of the bridge. I have seen pretty much everything south of Carmel and north of McWay Falls referred to as Big Sur.

I did a reverse image search on this photo and found it was ripped off a few times by wallpaper sites. This is an exercise I should do more often. I have shared thousands of shots over the years so it's not easy to stay on top of. I can assure you I am the photographer behind this shot. I first released it to the world on June 6th 2014 to my flickr. I can say with absolute certainty that this will pre-date any other site that stole my image. Also it is pretty clear from the cloud formations that I took the shot of Stevi and Vinny at the same time. This has happened to a bunch of my images and is part of why I am now officially releasing them with a Creative Commons License. Beside random wallpaper sites I also see my images show up randomly on social sites, most commonly reddit, tumblr, or pintrest.
