It's a girl!

I went to have a look at my cacti farm today. I did all the necessary maintenance yesterday so today I just go and pet them. I picked up this little white one and look! It ha a baby :D And it is pink!

Mammillaria Gracilis Monstruosa

Those are two small plants that I potted together in case one dies. I have them for a year now and even though they don't seem to grow very fast, they probably tippled in size since then. Still a small cactus. Both of the fir in 5 cm pot.
It didn't bloom for me this year - probably still too young. But now that it started to produce offshoots (one so far) I think it can also produce flowers.

The older stems don't grow those cute, baby pink spines. They are mean and sharp with dark tips.

I think I have another one of those. Received a small cutting from a blue painted cactus (poor thing). Of course it grows normally now with beautiful, snow white spines. Looks a bit like that. And much, MUCH nicer than the fake pain blue.

Please, do not buy planted cacti! If people stop showing interest in those, the sellers will stop spraying them with paint and gluing or pinning fake flowers on them.
