My first HDR

in #photography9 years ago

"You've been taking photographs for more than 10 years and have never done HDR?"- you ask. Yes, I have never tried it, because I saw enough of the "burned" pseudo-hdr photos and it disgusted me for many years.

I heard, of course, about a real HDR, which is made from several frames with different exposures, but somehow hands did not get to try to do it. Something similar did, but it was only a duplicate to eliminate the overexposures that I applied using the layer mask manually.

During another evening walk I chose a plot, photographed on a smartphone and the next day came already with a camera and a tripod to the point of shooting. The main task was to eliminate the overexposures in the windows of a multi-storey building and slightly pull out the shadows, while obtaining a good tonal contrast.

In order to get normal windows you need to make the darkest picture and check the presence of overexposures using a histogram in the camera.

Next, a couple of "medium" exposure frames and one brighter to eliminate the dips in the shadows.

Using the Adobe Photoshop HDR Efex Pro plugin, I combined these photos into one, added a bit of processing, but so that the realism of the plot is not lost, and this is the final result.

The result impressed me! It turned out an interesting photo, although perhaps it is necessary to achieve even greater realism, but in any case I will use more often!
