Posing Flow

With all this wonderful natural light pouring into my studio, I decided to shoot a sort of behind-the-scenes -type timelapse of some major posing action. Simple, fun, and shows you the type of movement and transitions I do when taking my self portraits. Obviously this was a little different than what I would normally do because I use my phone as a remote and check every pose and lighting before I take the shot, and move the camera around. If only it would be this easy to take a set of great self portraits. I shot this timelapse with the Nikon D7200 and Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8, at 18mm and f/8 and manually focused on somewhere where I would approximate be posing on.

I would happily put on a mask and just pose with my body, it's what I like to do and I'm good at, the face is soooooo much harder to work with. Maybe next time I'll challenge myself and do a portrait posing timelapse in harsh light, bring you closer, slow it down and really show how important even the slightest of movements are for getting that right shot.

When shooting this, I made things hard on myself, again, by accidentally taking individual images (RAW+jpeg.....) every second, about 500 of them, instead of doing a straight up in-camera timelapse. FML. That was some 11Gt's of images that I then had to import and make into a timelapse with iMovie. That was fun. NOT. I would have just started all over again and made the video in camera, if only I had enough daylight left, but no such luck. The sun hits this spot for about half an hour, and I had already used that all up.
