Just Act Cool

I've finally had time to go through and start processing the images we took last weekend in Hellsinki. Me and my photographer friend, who wishes to remain anonymous, did some light shooting while exploring random places in Hell. I think I have three more sets after this one for you guys.

We were supposed to shoot more, but I was in so much pain on Friday that we postponed the shoot to Saturday, though I was still in pain and nauseous. And no, nothing to worry about, just the monthly delights of being a women. I got better throughout the day, but I think you can see on these earlier clicks that I'm definitely not on my A-game. I could have cancelled the shoot all together, but it's rare I get to play in front of the camera, so I didn't want to.

I'm not a huge fan of these images myself because I can see I am not doing that well, but I don't think everyone else is going to look at the images in a same way. I'm here also to share it all, so even when everything doesn't go according to plan, the images are a memory of something that I want to put on record.

It's all part of the story and ties in with all the other images from the day. A progression and changing moods.

It's all a split second anyways

I wouldn't say pain necessarily is a bad thing when it comes to work in front of the camera or on stage... it's never a good thing to have to suffer from pain (I can't say I know how you feel but I can imagine it blurs the cooperation between the brain and the movement of the body) but when it hits you, you have the possibility to take advantage of the things it might give. I see a kind of seriousnes I like in these pictures :)

Now I really am glad I published these, because I was hoping for different kinds of interpretations and ideas to rise from these. I'm used to expressing heartache in photography, but when it's physical pain, I have never thought of using it for anything productive. I think I was trying to push through it and act like I was fine, when instead, I could have embraced the pain and let it show even more, just like I would if I am feeling blue.

Thank you for making me think of the physical pain in a way that might help me in the future!

I'm glad I was able to give you a new point of view! It's always good to put new gadgets into you toolbox :) I never thought about it, but working with models and non-moving pictures would be a cool challenge!

You would make a wonderful modelling coach 😝

There is no smiling in the photos but otherwise it would be hard to tell that you're not feeling well.

What does it say on the shirt above the big mouth with the tongue hanging out? You look calm and collected yourself but in light of what you wrote about your physical well-being I now see the picture of the mouth in a slightly amusing light.

Funny, I didn't even think of the shirt when I was in front of the camera, or even when photoshopping these.

If you look closely, you can see little signs of me not being alright. In some of the pictures I'm gripping the railing really hard and clenching my teeth. But in a way, it all works for these images.

Now that you say so there seems to be a small lump on your jaw in the second photo that looks like one of the jaw muscles clenched. Well, the opportunity did not go to waste on account of a temporary feeling of nausea and pain. Nearly 29 Steem Token Units earned at this time. Well done.

Imo, if a photo catches an emotion or feeling it makes the photo even better, yes, it might be pain, but maybe people will look at the photo and correlate (not really the word i want to use but can't find a better one) with you... maybe your pain can make someone feel something... It all depends on the interpretation and the person seeing the photo!

But hey... I'm not a photographer, or art enthusiast, so what do i know :P

Very beautiful pictures and personality.. Pls don't fall inside the water.. Cos I love u 😍.

Photos are nice but something is missing and that's smile. One smile in these photos could have made fabulous photos. I know it's difficult for to work in such circumstances.
