First Photowalk With the Fujifilm x100F - In Colour

Earlier today I wrote about my new expensive toy I got in the mail this morning, and as soon as I got the battery fully charged, I rushed outside to test it out. You know I am not a fan of shooting in bright sunlight, but I couldn't wait, and I knew a jogging route that would get pretty gorgeous light filtering through the autumn coloured leaves. I hope my photography makes justice to the beauty of the day.

I wanted to put both my photography skills and the camera to the test and shoot in jpeg and use the images as they are, no post process what so ever. Fujifilm x100-series is praised for having gorgeous film simulation modes, in the style of their original films and I wanted to test that out. It feels a bit weird and scary to shoot in jpeg and know that this is the image as it is, but it's also very freeing.

For all of these, I used the one called Velvia, which is a more vivid than the standard one, and supposedly good for nature and landscape. There will be a part two later today, testing out Acros, a beautiful black and white film simulation.

Shot with the Fujifilm x100F 23mm (35mm equivalent) f/2.

Give me and my baby camera feedback!

Ps. this feels almost criminal to put up pictures when the only thing I did on photoshop was to resize.

I know zilch about photography, but I love those shots of the sun filtering through the trees. Sun shots are right up there with sunset shots.

I will try to provide all the sun and skyporn shots I can before the winter takes it all away for a while!

Holy shit! I love these. I'm selling my family to get one of these camera's. I'm so ready to set the big clanky clunker aside and have some fun! Truth is it's that not that heavy or clanky but... well, you know

I wholeheartedly support you on your cause for getting that camera!

Nice, loving the colors!
How do you like the camera so far?
And what lenses did you get????

It was such a joy to shoot with, but of course I need a little time to get used to it, it's a big change from the semi-professional Nikon. The x100f has a fixed 23mm f/2 lens, I wanted something that didn't have interchangeable lenses, because then I would again go down to the rabbit whole of getting multiple lenses and lugging them around.

I guess the compositions turned out ok. You can shoot in bright daylight so long as you watch out for the shadows. I can see you've been at your usual game of trying to create interesting effects with light filtering through foliage. It would've taken some time with Photoshop to nail it. I liked the second one and all the bridges best.

Yes of course to get the full effect, it would need to be shot in Raw to get all the details, but I wanted to try out what the camera can do by itself.

I know and I think this was a succesful test.

Those pictures are fantastic. I'm sure it helps to have a professional behind it, but the quality is excellent. (from a novice point of view.)
So much better than cell pics, and still no messing around. What's not to love! I was curious. Thanks for, probably costing me money to go get one!

I have completely ruined the phone camera pictures for you, haven't I? :P I'm happy to spread the virus @alcibiades inflicted on me!

Easy as using the all in one cell option is.. I have to admit, I won't be happy taking pics I want to keep with it anymore.

Sorry not sorry!

Ah.... there also lot yellow trees :) Cool .

Aren't they pretty? I reckon it won't take more than a week and there will be no leaves anymore :(

But soon we have cool winter... and all is white and sky is blue :))
