Red Moon Rising (Original Photos in Sequence)
The moon rise occurred a little before mid-night on 16 March 2017. This is not the planet Mars or a blood moon rising. As the moon rose above the horizon it took on a red-hue much like the sunrise does.
Photographs taken 16-17 March 2017 in eastern Nebraska.

Rising Gibbous Moon
As the rising moon broke above the horizon it took on a red-hue. There are power-lines off in the distance. You can see them move across the face of the moon as it rises.

Thank you! Yes, I too was surprised by the deep red of this moon rise.
My sunrise photos also have a lot of red on the horizon too. The red hue is just an atmospheric effect.
Steem on,
Mike
