Morning - 10 August 2019 (Original Video/Photos)
Even with clouds on the distant horizon, the dawning of a new day can surprise you. The thickening clouds on the horizon gave a spectacular display just before the official sunrise.

Sunrise Video
For this photo shoot I focused on the distant horizon then turned off the auto-focus and the image stabilization on my lens.
The photographs in the video cover a 15 minute time-frame. This video stitches together 75 photos starting 19 minutes before the official sunrise.

All the photographs taken have been compiled into a 9 minute 25 second video. The photographs have not been enhanced, you see what I observed.

Sunrise Photographs in Sequence
Dawn: The period of the day when light begins to appear in the sky from the sun.
Sunrise: The time when you first see the sun in the morning.
To give you an idea of the when the photographs were taken I am adding a T-time. T-0 is sunrise, T-10 is 10 minutes before sunrise, and T+5 is 5 minutes after sunrise.
This is a representative sample of the photographs in the video. The photographs have not been enhanced, you are seeing what I observed on this morning.

There were thick clouds gathering on the horizon as a new day was breaking. Eventually the clouds grew thick enough to blot out the sun.
The last type of sandstorm in Nebraska was during the dust bowl years in the 1930's. The farmers had plowed the fields for planting when a severe drought hit the area. The wind stirred up dust off the sun baked ground and created what we refer to as the dust bowl.
In recent years the sunrise has been tainted by fires as far away as one thousand miles away in Canada. This usually creates red sunrises and sunsets.
