Blue Jay (Original Photos)
On this bright and sunny day with the ground covered by snow, I observed this Blue Jay in my tree.

Beautiful bird! I have also photographed blue jays a month ago!
Thank you! The different shades of blue on Blue Jays is just fantastic.
Thanks for you comment!

You are welcome!
So beautiful bird. I'd like to hear the bird's singing. Thank you @etcmike
Thank you!
There are sound files of jays at the following link: http://www.audubon.org/field-guide/bird/blue-jay

Thank you for your kindness. I listened to jay calls. :) Followed, see you again.
Thank you @etcmike for the link....their calls ...just as bleujay remembered....very harsh....enjoyed hearing them again. Cheers.
You are very welcome!!
Steem on,
Mike
Wow, what a beautiful colors he has!
I think their colors become more brilliant as spring approaches.
I too was surprised to see all the colorful shades of blue that pop-out on this Blue Jay.
Steem on,
Mike
Nice photos. If they weren't so common, everyone would be thrilled every time a Bluejay appears. They are as colorful and beautiful as any tropical bird. Out here in the Pacific Northwest, I really miss the Bluejays. We have our own jays (Scrub Jays and Stellar Jays), but they can't match the colorfulness of Bluejays.
Thank you!
The Blue Jays are not all that common to my backyard. There are many days throughout the year that I do not see Blue Jays. It is always a treat to see the Blue Jays shows up at my feeder.
Have a great day!
Steem on,
Mike
I think all the crow and jay relatives got hit hard by the West Nile Virus when it swept across the country around 2000-2005. They are still the most susceptible birds to that virus. I could really notice their loss over the years, when I go back to visit my parents or travel for work. I hope they develop some resistance over time. They are all such smart, engaging birds -- and beautiful, like your bluejays! Keep those peanuts flowing! ; )
Yes, that is correct. The West Nile virus hit them hard.
I just filled up the peanut feeder about a half-hour ago. A squirrel has already found them!
Steem on,
Mike
Squirrels! =8O
Thank you for posting @etcmike.
Lovely photographs of blue jays.
@bontonstory gave bleujay the link in order to see these beautiful birds.
