this place route is actually only about 1km (the green line in the map) but the great thing is after that you can turn back or contiue on to vary the route. If you continue (the blue arrow in the map), there's a bridge another little island (serangoon island but most local know it as coney island. I'll dig out some older photos of that coney island from earlier this year and post. Pass that island coming to main land, there is option to turn left and right to different part. If you turn back, go across the bridge and turn left (the red part in the map), it's also a long route along a water way on one of our park connectors.

This is great work. Thank you so much for putting the effort in.

Now I know exactly where to take a beautiful run when I am in your part of the world.

I hope that your answer is also of help to other Steemit members from the area.

trying this link of a path of about 7km I plotted that takes to the serangoon island out the other end and back along the coast back to the starting point. walk with some stops should take close to 2 hours but a run should be shorter.
OK, link works but you need to zoom in to the north east to see the path in the map.

What about the island to the east? I can see there is a mountain bike park. This would interest my son a lot :)

Sorry, no luck with the taiji buddies. Few of them or casual cyclists.
However, I did some googling and found 2 things:

  1. https://www.nparks.gov.sg/activities/fitness-sport-and-wellness/mountain-biking
  2. https://www.tripzilla.com/top-5-cycling-trails-in-singapore/25788
The first one is from a government agency in chart of the different parks in Singapore.
The second seems to be some travel site.
Looking at both, the mountain bike trail mentioned seems to be in sync.

Sorry, not a bicycle person myself although I rode a couple of times last week after more than 30 years.
They said it's something you never forget. I heard there's a part where people ride in Tampines.
I'll ask my taiji buddies tomorrow if they know or dig a bit more.

Thank you very much for your effort. I will check the links.

Have a great weekend.
