Journeying in Waterton National Park, Canada. (Re-post containing all the pictures again!)
Over the years and as summer is coming around the corner, one who has the chance of a bit of a breather for the season starts planning and dreaming about idyllic locations whether they are fantasy or reality. Waterton National Park surprisingly contains both!
Arriving there through the United States or Canada...
...you are sure to be left speechless at the sheer and balance of space, colours and forms surrounding you.
A few campsites are available and each have their own attributes, they are all giving great easy access to the Main Village, Townsite Campground is a bustling camping area and gives you a downtown feeling while being in the wild!
The other campsites are definitely more in tune with the wilderness that surrounds you.
The surrounding areas, including the so-called Village, has some great sceneries as well!
The whole area was going to be exploited by the oil companies at the beginning of the last century, good thing they started something new called a National Park! By exposing people to the beauties of the area, they hoped and managed to save it. Meanwhile, they created a precedent that brought about the Rocky Mountain National Park system.
Be mindful that the area goes through a pretty regular cycle of katabatic winds blowing in in the morning and anabatic ones in the evening. Get ready for winds if you are in the Village site!
Though not always...
I sure hope you are going to be able to share in such adventures and have the great fortune of visiting one of the magnificent parks found with the park system. More presentations of this kind shall come through this site soon, stay tuned as they do change ones life forever! Namaste :)
