Fire in the Skies

in #photography8 years ago

Over the course of last summer's droughts and heat spell, the fire season of 2016 offered some remarquable opportunities for photography...

After a long day of driving in the searing heat of mid-July, finding a swimmable lake and a decent campground became paramount and the city of Creston, located in the southern Kootenays, had just that. On the eastern border of Creston one may find a beautiful campground filled with pine trees and a multiple campgrounds adjacent to a very welcoming warm water lake upon which multiple reflections build...

The air filled with a pungent smoky scent had yet to offer some magnificent lightscapes which rolled in like a tide reaching its apex of brightness and colours.

I hope you have enjoyed one more of my little photographic journeys and stay tuned for more picturesque adventures in the near future. Namaste

This is so sad because of the forest fire...
but in the same time that makes great pictures I haven't had the chance to see any of those.

You somehow get the most amazing colors in your shots. Some people think they are photoshopped. Are you using any techniques to enhance the colors?

Atmospheric haze gives physical dimension to color and wildfires can produce vibrant sunsets hundreds of miles downwind! But it does look like OP tweaked levels a bit... bumped the saturation and lightened dark regions I'm guessing.

The forefront was brightened to give back to you what was in front of my eyes. Good observation and understanding of this process. Namaste :)

Coooool. I'm going that way next week and these pictures are epic!
