Natural Wonders of the World, "Angel Falls" - Venezuela

Hello dear brothers of Steemit, today I want to share with you one of the natural wonders of my beloved country Venezuela and the world, "Angel Falls".

The Angel Falls (Kerepakupai Vená, in Pemon, meaning "jump from the deepest place")

This natural wonder is located in the Canaima National Park, in Bolivar state, Venezuela. It is known as the highest waterfall in the world, with a height of 979 meters (807 meters of uninterrupted waterfall) generated from the Auyantepuy and extends over an area of more than 30,000 km2. In the 21st century, she was one of the 28 finalists in the election of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

The Angel Falls is also known erroneously as Churún-Merú (when the correct one is Kerepakupai Vená, river that gives origin to the jump and branch of Churún River), name that corresponds in fact to another cataract that is in the same Tepuy, of some 400 meters high.

It is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Venezuela, you can reach the region by plane from Caracas or Ciudad Bolivar to reach a camp in Canaima, although many tourists prefer to arrive naturally through the jungle by way Until reaching the base of the jump.

Trips by plane or helicopter allow you to observe the Auyantepuy and its numerous waterfalls. The excursions that are made by land and water from the Canaima camp, last approximately 13 hours.

The trips to the Angel Falls take place from June to December, when the rivers are deep enough to support the wooden curiars (canoes) used by Pemón indigenous people. On cloudy days visitors can not observe the Angel Falls in fullness.

It is worth mentioning that this wonder along with the Auyantepuy and other landscapes of the national park Canaima, were inspiring for the realization of films like: "Up: An adventure of height" and "Avatar"
