in #photography7 years ago

Hi Steemians, These are some pictures of bees were taken this morning. Very difficult to take a picture of a bee, he never stood still.

I took this picture in the city park, in Aceh, using my smartphone camera, Xiaomi redmi Note 4, with the addition of a macro lens.

Great pics I know how hard it is to snap a good one of them. "Busy as a bee" they say and for good reason. Just as a side note this bee is female. you can tell from the eyes if it were male the eyes would almost be touching each other. Drones or male honey bees (This looks like an Asian honey bee slightly larger and more aggressive than the European honey bee most people are used to seeing but I could be wrong it could be some type of solitary bee I am not familuar with but I think it is the asian honey bee. ) have the larger set of eyes so that it is abe to see a virgin queen on a mating flight and chase her down for a chance to mate additionally it is worker bees (Workers are all female) are the ones that do all of the foraging for a colony of honey bees. but you can see drones hanging out on a flower from time to time its not unheard of

interesting explanation, You seem to be very understanding of bees, Thank you for sharing your knowledge with me :)

No problem ! I am always happy to talk about bees If you want more check out my blog I am slowly steeming it. and thank you for the pics!
