Zoo in Helsinki
Zoo Korkeasaari is located on the island of the same name and is considered one of the most northern and oldest zoos in the world. It affects the collection of animal species (more than a hundred) and plants (about a thousand), such a mini model of the whole world.
Walking along Korkeasaari is a journey through the Finnish lowlands, conquering mountain peaks, exploring the tundra and dangerous jungles. By the zoo you can wander the whole day and never get bored.
The zoo is divided into several zones. In Africa, you can observe reptiles and amphibians from the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, in the Amazon - to get acquainted with the fauna of South America. In Borealia, there are national animals of Finland - bears, as well as mammals of Finnish boreal coniferous forests. In addition, the zoo is inhabited by animals from Australia and North America. On the territory of the zoo are restaurant Pukki and cafe Safari and Watchman's cottage, as well as numerous kiosks and shops Korkeasaari and Safarishop, where you can buy souvenirs.
