I had a beautiful weekend on an island
Only few days but I feel more exhausted than before we went on this micro vacation.
Kaprije is a little island about 16 kilometers far from my hometown. There is a village with not more than hundred people. In summer, you can see more than a thousand tourists on the island. The surface of the island is slightly more than 7 square kilometers, but the length of the coast is 25 kilometers. The village is located in the main cove.
The village is very old and some of these houses are here for centuries.
It's all made of stone. More than 700 years ago, there was a quarry on the island. There are many new houses because many people have a cottage here, but there are many old houses of stone. Some people try to build this houses following the old ways.
Almost all people around are older people.
But they're trying to keep up with the technology. Like this grandma here, she simply can't get from the cellphone, so she headed up on the hill to catch better 4G signal for the internet.
In this time of year the village looks empty.
If there wasn't any boats on the sea, or few drunks in front of the mini-market, I would say that there is nobody here. They have that mini-market that I mentioned and a bar. And that's it. But the most of old houses are abandoned.
I was more interested in agriculture and nature.
This people works hard for life.
The soil is poor and always thirsty and hungry.
Everything is prickly, stingy and thorny. The rocks are sharp, too!
But, it doesn't matter which path you take, you'll see beautiful scenes!
Looks like a nice place just to walk around.
