Somewhere in the Badlands

I have this obsession with roads -- the more isolated ones speaking to me not just as a visual person but as a veteran road tripper and explorer. This shot -- en route from the infamous Wall Drug, South Dakota, winding its way across an ancient landscape was evocative to say the least.

This image was done on an "old school" large format camera, using film. Shot in spring of 2003.
