An Array Of Colors: Flower Power

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

I recently got a new camera, a canon powershot, and I've been working on the filters and various other adjustments to get the best quality pictures possible.

I went to a flower market with my mom, who absolutely adores flowers more than anyone I know- and really should have been a florist herself- and it seemed like a good opportunity to play some more with the camera...so many colors :)

Enjoy!

Cool - Canon cameras are awesome - I haven't been out of the house without a Canon camera in my pocket since 2002!

Here are a few of our old ones

)

Wow, that is a set! I love this camera so far :)

When he says he hasn't been out of the house without his camera for 15 years, he isn't exaggerating - if he can't find his camera, he has palpitations ;-)

I completely understant that at this particular point. The other day I had my camera...but it was out of juice and I was very distressed haha!

I carry a spare battery too :)

Otherwise I might turn into a pumpkin!

Wow, first a benign picture of cameras, then one of a pumpkin...and of course my pointing this out will probably guarantee retaliation of an asscrack, haha!!!

Are you looking for arse photos? :)

Lovely photos @dreemit. I'm hoping to get into a bit of photography myself but know nothing about cameras so looking forward discovering something new. :)

Hope you are having an amazing day!

My day has just begun @tonyr ...actually I am up really, reallllly early. I wanted to see if I could catch some sunrise over the lake pictures :) I appreciate the compliment, it was definitely about working on the colors etc. I think your brother resteemed a post of mine with pictures of the water that were really cool :)
As far as I've heard from everyone, you cannot go wrong with canon cameras, even older ones. You can see @sift666's comment to me, he and @kiwideb have an assortment of them :)

I had a canon once. It was a great camera and the shots were magic just like these!

I'm in love with this camera already, and I'm still fooling with it. I ran around this morning taking pictures of the sunrise off of the two lakes my town is sandwiched between...actually the one my parents live on-Seneca- is far better for sunsets, while Cayuga is the place for sunrises, logically it must be an east/west thing. Though not something I'd thought much about before because I am NOT an early person generally, so sunsets are a rare thing for me to see. But I was determined. I'll probably post them tomorrow though, since I already took up my photography post of the day :)

That's one of the fantastic things about a new camera is that it can totally ignite your passion for photography again and you end up running around all over the shop taking photos!! Where you are sounds amazing :0)

I also had a powershot canon (two actually), one is broke the other I lost somewhere!! It's a great compact camera!! Great colorful photos we have here!

Oh no, I think I would be heartbroken if I lost this, haha! I'm loving it, I've figured out a great setting for the outdoor photos, though it depends on the lighting for some of the indoor ones. The auto setting is good all around, but I like fiddling for more detail :)
Thank you!

Yes, I got very upset when I lost my last powershot camera and punished myself for a couple of months. Then I decided to buy a bigger camera, this one I will not be able to loose! It's too big to drop out of my purse! :)

Enjoy your camera and share with us :))

Hahaha! That sounds a LOT like something that would happen to me, though I hope it doesn't! But perhaps if it does it will just give me a reason to also get a bigger one :)

Watch out your purse/bag. I hated to lose the camera, it cost me about 100€...and no one likes to lose money! But what pissed me, even more, was to lose the 4 Gb memory card with photos...that I will never recover...that's the bigger bummer.

Those flowers are really pretty. I was actually thinking about buying a new camera myself because my cell phone just doesn't take the quality of pictures that I would like..

I know exactly what you mean, that's what led to this :)

Very nice photos! Good luck with your new camera!

Thank you! It's been good luck so far ;)

Haha with the colorchallenge in the bag, you decided to shotgun it and post the spectrum at once. Smart! I don't know why it is, but the flowers look almost the exact same to me, except of course the difference in color.

I love colors, I'm a colorhaulic, lol. That makes sense considering how you've said you feel about bright colors. I doublechecked after reading your comment, but they're not the same kinds of flowers, haha :)

Bright colors? Haha! I think you have the wrong memory about my sentiment towards them haha

Maybe I misinterpreted something you said. It was about your eyes and how a certain member's art messed with them. I thought it had to do with the bright colors.

Hahaha! If that's the case, then your memory serves you... right!! Hahaha! It's nothing personal, it's just, well, personal preference I guess haha

beautiful pictures. Another great photography post from @dreemit , keep it up!

Thanks my friend! If you keep this up I'm going to start counting on your comments, haha! :) Need to go to your page now.

haha sweet. If I get back into Photography, I might start off with some Prairies. Illinois is good with that.

That beautiful photos dear friend @dreemit, beautiful images to start the day, congratulations for this great work, thank you very much for these beautiful gifts
Have a beautiful weekend

Thank you my lovely friend @jlufer, it is always great to see you here :)
