About the photo
We were driving our just bought car from Dabrowa Gornicza near Katowice, Poland when we saw some road signs telling about the castles nearby. Our curiosity brought us to a small village Mirow when we had a walk to the nearest ruins and spent a night.
Early in the morning I went to look around and maybe take some sunrise photos of the ruined Mirow castle. It was rainy, and clouds covered the sky.
I set my camera and waited. Nothing happened before my lens. But when I turned back looking for any sign of the break in the clouds for the rising sun I was surprised. The red glow was coming behind the rocks. It seems there was a thin line on the horizon just enough to the sun to lit the clouds. A couple of minutes later everything was over.
About the place
(slaskie.travel)
The Mirowskie Rocks extend over a distance of less than 2 km between two picturesque Jura castles in Bobolice (in the east) and Mirów (in the west). The range is formed by impressive outcroppings, in which there are shallow grottos and quite deep karst caves. The Rocks are covered with pine forests and xerotherm grasslands rich in protected plants. The Rocks are a favorite place for lovers of climbing. The Trail of Eagles’ Nests passes through the Rocks.
