Welcome back! I should have checked a few days ago! You got some awesome shark shots there. I will have to show them to my husband. He went snorkeling with sharks in Tahiti before we met.
Thanks! I was surprised at how close they got to us. They really were not intimidated by humans at all.
They really rarely attack humans, but they make news when they do!
That they do! Its that human obsession with predatory animals.. and the movie Jaws didn't help either ;)
The shark attack capital of the world is just south of here at New Smyrna Beach, but you are more likely to be struck by lightning at the beach in Florida than to be attacked by a shark. Everyone who enters the water to swim or surf at our beaches here is only yards away from a shark. My friends who surf tell me that they see them all the time!
