Convicted
Hellooo Everyone
This is a collection of "headshots" that I'll update from time to time, these have been from all around South Africa, I will not give the location of the animals due to poaching, sadly. Hopefully my blog and my followers will allow me to contribute to the pandemic that's plaguing my country and animals worldwide!
These are some of my favourite shots to date so I hope you enjoy and engage with me!
(An AMAZING female leopard with her eye on a potential victim)
Leopards are fast felines and can run at up to 58km/h! They’re super springy, too, and can leap 6m forward through the air – that’s the length of three adults lying head to toe!
(An old male, battle worn but always the victor)
(A morning roar from the King of the Jungle)
An adult male’s roar can be heard up to 8km away.
(So angelic, this specific lion was killed recently by a group of juvenile males that took control over the pride)
In the wild, lions live for an average of 12 years and up to 16 years.
(Its the eye of the ...lion??)
Female lions reach two-thirds of their adult size by the time they are two years old.
(Such gentle souls being massacred for greed)
Sadly, it’s estimated that there are only around 29,000 rhinos left in the wild, compared to 500,000 at the beginning of the 20th century. The main threat to these beautiful animals is illegal hunting, largely because their horns are used in traditional folk medicine, particularly in Asia. (A wildebeest munching down on some flowers)
The wildebeest is one of the few African antelopes to have extended its range in the last 50 years. They numbered about 250,000 in 1960 and are thought to number 1.5 million today
(My favourite picture, A Zebra loses nothing being captured in black and white)
As elegant and peaceful as they are, don’t be fooled – zebras can be aggressive animals, too! Stallions fight for females with piercing bites and powerful kicks that are strong enough to cause serious damage – and sometimes even kill!
Follow and check out my other posts, keep updated with everything South African!!!
zebra aggressive ? well that is something I didn't know... Thank you anyway for your post !
Their kick has enough force to kill a lion, quite scary!
Lovely shots
