A day on Inle Lake
The last day on my trip to Myanmar was spend on a motorboat trip on Inle Lake. Starting in the morning and ending when the sun was setting. It was cold. Raining now and then, but I covered up to keep comfortable in the boat, with the guide sitting right behind me. I think most people who visit Myanmar, do take the time to visit Inle Lake as well to see he floating gardens and villages on stilts.
The whole day was spend on the lake. Stopped to visit floating workshops, villages on stilts, the ancient stupas at Inthein and some workshops on the lake.
The floating gardens where the Intha farmers grow flowers, tomatoes, fruit and other vegetables on long wooden trellises supported on floating mats. Incredible how they manage to use the lake as a garden.
Dinner at the Golden Island Cottage. From here the sunset was absolutely gorgeous!

Looks so tranquil and peaceful. It's nice to see a different lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Yes, it is just as peaceful an tranquil as it looks like. The most impressive was the floating gardens and the stilt houses. People have to move by boat everywhere they go.

And do visit Bagan too. I will later upload photoes from visiting the "thousand of temples" in Bagan, over 1000 years old. I did a sunrise balloon flight which was awsome.

Myanmar is beautiful and interesting . People are friendly and helpful :) History that is worth to discover, but in our century there has been political unrest, oppression........Thats why it has been a country "closed" for many years for tourist. But because of that, is stil authentic in many ways.
