Cyanotype Portrait

Here is another cyanotype portrait I did a couple of years ago. I bought some cheap black lights (UV-Light) so I could expose the prints indoor. With one light I managed to get the contact print exposures under 6 minutes (check the first test of the black lights in the video below the image).

The portrait itself is beautiful, ant this technique makes it unique as a painting. Bravo, @dieterschneider! Follow you.

Thanks, highly appreciated.

That is impressive @dieterschneider, thank you very much for sharing this technique. Could you please explain how did you get standard Cyanotype solution. Does it have a recipe for preparation? What kind of paper did you use?

Thank You. The standard Cyanotype solution is just two chemicals.

Potassium ferricyanide and Ferric ammonium citrate (green) are mixed with water separately.
The two solutions are then blended together in equal parts.

The paper is standard water color paper, nothing fancy.

I also use hydrogen peroxide to boost the blue color fast, and sometimes I tone them with tannic acid. A lot of people use use coffe or tea for toning, but pure tannic acid preserve the whites better.

A linked photo would be nice. Thanks @photo-trail

Thank you very much for that complete explanation @dieterschneider.

Amazing photography @dieterschneider
