Why Post Processing in Landscape Photography is Important ??

You must like to watch eye-pleasing Landscape photos. But you may don't know the hard work behind capturing such beautiful and mesmerizing Photographs.

Making a final image combines both in-camera knowledge that is technical aspects of Photography + Post Processing skills used by the Photographer.

Many Photographers don't use to mush Editing software as per liking and genre of Photography, to the contrary there are many Photographers who couldn't resist from using Photoshop and other post processing software.

Use of post Processing software totally depends as per the need of the Photographer. For example :- A photojournalist needs very little use of editing mostly, so he/she avoids to jump into Photoshop mostly. On the other Hand a Landscape Photographer requires Post-Processing software for colour correction, or to enhance colour in his/her image. Most of Commercial Photographers use Post-Processing software.

Coming back to the image I uploaded took me 1hournin the Post-Processing. My idea for processing it was to refine it and make it finer for a good looking print. As the image was captured with Canon EOS 600D a crop sensor body and the image was under exposed I was getting a lot of noise while after opening up the shadows in Photoshop soi didn't touch them. I tried a different method. I work both locally and globally on the image to produce a final image.

Local Adjustment :- Editing on selective part of the picture.
Global Adjustment :- Editing on the whole picture.

Note :- Post Processing is a subjective and everyone is free to edit according to his/her likings.
