Reflecting on the Past
Don’t enjoy this view too much- that building is coming down. It has stood there for at least a century, housing families and businesses for generations. Now, it has given way to progress. Too expensive to renovate, too small to accommodate, it’s outlived its usefulness. I think it’s a bit of a shame. I enjoy the mansard roof and protruding window bays.
I’m sure we will see a sleek glass office building with artfully cut stonework to replace it. Large, theme-park-style restaurants, an Irish pub castle perhaps, or authentic Moroccan Lounge jutting out along the sidewalk. Seating carefully designed to make it comfortable enough to sun and chat, but not to sleep or skateboard.
