Few weeks ago, I went with my bike to Resceto, a village on the Apuan Alps slopes. I cycled along the Frigido valley to the junction for the town.
This place is located in province of Massa-Carrara (Tuscany, Italy), 10 kilometers about from the center of Massa.
From here, you can take several paths. The body responsible for taking care of them is CAI, the Italian Alpine Club. The paths under his supervision are reported with the tricolor red-white-red rectangle and an identification number.
There are many paths with different difficulty in every area, althoug it isn't possible to have easy paths available in some of them due to the anatomy of the mountains.
The sorrounding landscape is fantastic, packed with mountain peaks.
Coming down from the village to go home, I took some photo from the road. Here you can see a lot of pine trees emerge from the rock walls.
Another shot from the road.
One more.
Even further downstream, you can find a stele in remember of the Abbot Domenico Vandelli. This man is the same to which the homonymous road is named.
The Vandelli Road is a large pathway that connect Resceto to some Apuan Alps Crests, to finally reach Modena. For more info about, go to the Wikipedia Via Vandelli English Page or to the Italian Page.
I realized this post with #nofilterpics only. The photos were taken with a simple smartphone.
