The first photo was captured at the Columbia Icefields center, back in 2013 with an iPhone 5!The Icefield itself lies partially in the northern tip of Banff Park and the southern tip of Jasper Park, Alberta.

Black & white just do something "different" to photos. It creates an emotion that is difficult to describe.
I heard some camera company has already, or is to manufacturer a B&W only camera.
One should think a bit differently when having such a camera in hand.
