The picture of the Canadian Rockies reminds me of our time living in the Rockies in Colorado. Often, we would take a day trip someplace high up and could see valleys with streams meandering through them. Brings back memories.
It was quite amazing. The only drawback I had was 9 months of winter! I've seen horizontal snow in May and snow on the 4th of July! Fall comes in late August and the leaves are off the trees usually by early to mid October. The golden color of the aspen leaves is stunning!! The low humidity is awesome, coming from the Ohio River Valley which oftentimes is 90 degrees with 90% humidity. I would say that if I could move back, I might choose a bit further south in or near Pagosa Springs, Colorado. They have some awesome hot springs there.
