Berlin - Tempelhof Airport
Berlin - Tempelhof Airport
Last Friday I visited the fair "Berlin Vital" because someone I know had to pick up the stater number for the Berlin Halfmarathon last Sunday.
That was the first time I could enter the Old Inner-city Airport at Berlin-Tempelhof. I was really impressed and you should also visit this when you are coming to Berlin.
Tempelhof Airport’s main building is a historically protected landmark and a symbol of the eventful history of Berlin itself.
On the one hand, it is an expression of Nazi ideology and served in World War II as a weapons production site using forced labour. On the other hand, Tempelhof is also a symbol of freedom, and the Air Lift of 1948/49 made the airport famous throughout the world. Plenty of activities you could do there, for example running, kiting, skating, barbecue or just hang around there.
During the division of Germany the airport was also the gateway to freedom for many people.
I will also show you the outside in my upcoming postings here...

The "coffee-bike" sign caught my eye: two things I like :) Thanks for sharing. I'd like to visit Berlin.
