Yorkshire Fields & Dry Stone Walls - Drone Photography

in #photography5 years ago (edited)

We recently had visitors from overseas who were in awe of the many different styles and stones used in dry stone walling across England. I suppose the variety of dry stone walling can be saved for a future post, but it is the use of the dry stone walls that create an often unique landscape in England.

Our guests were curious of the volume, shape and small scale size of the enclosures of our fields. It can be seen best from 400ft in the air - and hence the purpose of this post:

Fantastic to see you taking it out and getting some ace results!
Dry stone walls do look fascinating from above.
I often forget that people who haven’t grown up in areas around them might be curious and be more observant to their existence.

Nice! So cool to see your shots :) I too am a bit fascinated by dry stone walling. Imagine the effort that goes in it for a start. I need some also for my stock photography

I might have a short hay meadow and dry stone wall post in the pipeline! Perhaps in next 24 hours. Thanks for dropping by.

The field looks so green. Is it used for farming?

There are some mixed uses in these photo’s- They are growing hay in some which they will use at winter feed for cattle and sheep I think, other fields are used for sheep grazing.
