Our Biggest Snow!
Last month we had our biggest snow! It was the perfect opportunity for the kids to get out and play as I snapped some pictures.
It got as high as 16 inches in some places. This snow kept us at our homes for several days. People were buying up everything at the store to prepare to be shut in. Thank goodness we got out and got what we needed as well.
How can something so beautiful be so dangerous at times? I love snow like this just for the beauty of it but I get nervous when I know my loved ones have to drive in it.
Here are some shots I captured...
Macro Practice
I’ve been wanting to get more macro practice in so I took full advantage. Macro shots are very tricky. You have to play around with the zoom to get a clear enough shot...
I hope you enjoyed viewing the images of our very own Winter Wonderland. I’m tagging my two fellow photographers that I follow closely @tattoodjay and @beautifulbullies! What ya think of the macros? Okay for a beginner? 😃
I love the macro shots, but I think my favourites are the snow-laden tree branches, with that lovely pale blue sky as a backdrop. You are right - snow is so soft and fluffy, and it muffles sound, making everything very quiet... yet at the same time, it is so treacherous!
Thank you @natubat! I appreciate you stopping by and giving me your feedback! I like the pale blue sky as well :)
Oh I bet your kids were so excited! Lots of snowy boots, mittens and coats for mom! All of your beautiful knitted scarves and mittens came in handy! Love your photography. I wish I had my camera when I lived in snowy climate. I would have had so much fun photographing the snow on the trees. Simply beautiful @crosheille. What a fun time for the kids and adults! Snuggle up and play games! Hot chocolate galore!
Yes they were very excited! Oh yeah they really come in handy this time of year! Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed the photos ;D
After a winter without seeing snow elsewhere is great. We hadn't had such a lot of snow in years!
I’m glad I could give you some snow to look at ;)
Trees look so beautiful when cowered by snow.
I remember the prewious year we had a similar storm. In the beginning of March, we had much snow, something about 50cm in a couple of days. Road traffic was stopped but children were happy playing outdoors:)))
I agree! I love snow covered trees! Wow that’s a lot! Definitely a good time for playing outdoors ;)
Thanks so much for stopping by.
wow, what a winter wonderland!! Here in Scandinavia, spring has just forced its way through by now, so I don't think we will see more snow this winter. It's been a really mild one here
I enjoyed seeing those brilliant photos, @crosheille.
I personally love seeing snowy landscapes and normally take lots of photos though I never really print any :D
Thank you @cryptocariad! I love taking these types of weather photos.
I never print them either. My dad just gave me an idea to start printing them and make them into greeting cards :D
Using photos as greetings cards is a great idea, @ crosheille ! - and a good way to use your work as 'business card' to showcase your photography.

It is as scary as it is beautiful
And you have captured the beauty so well
It looks like the Snow Queen's Fort
Glad you braved the snow and got out and got these lovely shots :)
Yes it is! Thank you so much! These shots were fun to get!
Wow! I love these shots! I am gutted we didn't get any real amounts of snow here in England this year, or at least In Nottingham lol
