A Walk in the Yard
Before sewing class a couple of weeks ago, my daughter and I decided to walk around my parents yard. We wanted to see which flowers and vegetables were still thriving as we settle into this Fall season. Canna lilies, marigolds, aloe and tomatoes were still there. I decided to snap some photos for my parents and course I’m going to share them with my Steemit family! 😉
Every year their yard is full of beautiful flowers. They take pride in their home and yard and have been that way since I can remember . My dad even cuts the neighbors yard for her when her grass gets too high. It’s out of the kindness of his heart...but also because it effects the way their yard looks. 😅 When their flowers are in full bloom I try to stay away from them because of the bees. 😬
Their garden usually consists of tomatoes, okra, cabbage, peppers, squash, cucumbers, greens etc. 😋 My father watched his late dad garden when he was growing up. My grandfather grew plants taller than he was, it was quite a jungle to me out there when I was younger. When we visited we played hide and seek along the trails of his garden, that’s how tall his plants were. They made a really great covering space. He was given a VIP reward for his homegrown peanuts. Till this day I have never tasted anything like them. His were absolutely the best.

Well that concludes our walk in the yard. Nature photos are my favorite to take...I love highlighting and capturing the beauty up close.

I need to fence in an area so I can have a garden again! My goats and chickens would destroy it. :/

Yes the aloes are my parents house plants. They take them outside from time to time. They just switch the pots when they outgrow them ;)

Beautiful photos. My parents and I had a similar experience growing up seeing the older generation garden. Gardens are magical for little people. It looks like these pictures were taken in the evening - a fabulous time for a garden walk.

what a beautiful garden, those tomatoes make me so jealous! I miss gardening, the beautiful cut flowers in the house, sigh.... I haven't seen peanut plants, I'm sure that was quite an intimidating sight as a young child. :) Thanks for sharing @crosheille!
