Family Farm Adventure Trip [Photos]
Today I want to share a photo album from a recent trip to the pumpkin patch and farm we visited.
The location of this farm has some small fame. You might remember the Roloff family from the television show Little People, Big World.
My family was kind of psyched to visit their farm, especially upon learning that it was hidden only 30 minutes away, and can only be visited for a few short weeks this October. It is a very large hundred acre lot with exotic animals, dozens of play-land structures for kids to climb on, a pirate ship, Noah's Ark, western towns, castles, ponies, sheep, goats, wagon rides, and more.
This might be the last year the Roloff family opens their farm to the public. You never know.
In the top photo you can see Amy whizzing around on her shuttle cart. We were happy that both Amy and Matt, the two stars of the hit TV show were both on site and offering free photo opportunities with fans.
It was a gorgeous day when we arrived.
The Roloff family built these mansion sized houses and barns. They are the first thing you see when you arrive. Even though they had fences up to help maintain their privacy spaces, it was nice that they were built in a way for television crews, and now fans, to be to see it up close in full view.
At the entrance is the store area. Inside you can buy either of two passes. One lets you enjoy the children's play-land area, and the other pass buys you a ticket on the wagon that tours around the full property. That looked like a long line to wait for, and a long ride, so we opted to skip it and save our money, unfortunately that meant we would not be able to see 90% of the property and one-of-a-kind landmarks they built.
Really wish people could go onto the pirate ship. Everyone was saying how nice the condition of the ship was. Everything on the property was kept new and clean.
There wasn't much inside the country store. Just people. They sell pumpkin products of all kinds. Salsa, jam, butter, marshmallow cakes, soap, pancake mix, etc. I wished they sold some fresh produce or baked good here, but there was none of that. Instead they offer apparel and nick-nacks for tourists emblazoned with #RoloffFarms logos across the front.
The wooden forts marked the entrance to the #play-land area.
Extra large #sand-pit with tons of toys.
A mountain of hay!
3-2-1 Jump!
There were so many things to play on, kids didn't even have to wait in line to use them in the morning.
The #slides were a big hit. Much faster than a normal slide. The fort ladders inside make it more fun for small kids, so they kept running back in for another go, over and over.
What's under the tent?
Exotic #big-cats.
What is a #cavy?
Bouncy ball #racing loop.
These are fun. A rolling tunnel?
Fun until you hit your head at the end.
#Big-wheel #tricycle race park.
A haunted trail hidden through the trees. Has a graveyard.
The #gold-mine and corral for panning for gold.
Grandma showing off.
Grandpa and grandson are stretching it back together. No injuries thankfully!
The #pumpkin-patch area is free. All of the #pumpkins looked ripe and large, ready to be weighed, and taken home for children to carve into #Jack-o-lanterns for #Halloween.
The tractor ride slowly pulls families around the pumpkin patch. Free service. It leads to a petting zoo with ponies. On the other side are sheep, goats, and lamas.
Prices were kind of spendy all over. But look at the size of those corn dogs! Almost as long as my arm!
That's it for now.
Thank you for viewing the photos from our memorable trip to the farm. I'll say goodbye with this last glimpse of my garden #sunflowers.
Bonsai!

Nice to finish with sunflowers. Looks like big fun for the kids. Lots to do. I remember playing on hay stacks when I was a kid. Somethings are timeless lol
That is some terrific family outing adventure @creative truth, the kids can even pan for gold and the pumpkins!
