Avocado In Bloom
My son gave me this sweet little avocado tree for Christmas this year, and it is already in bloom!
It is still in its "crib" to keep it safe from the maurading chickens, and tonight it's covered in a contractor's trashbag to protect it from the forecast of frost.
I hope the blooms survive and my newest baby continues to thrive.
your son's gift, very meaningful:) to be trained with labor, very beautiful..
I have never seen avocado flowers, I hope you will give fruits:)
cover with transparent nylon to protect from cold😊
The flowers are very tiny, I had to use the macro function. It is such a miracle that delicious creamy avocados come from so humble a beginning. Great tip about the clear nylon.
Amazing your avocado tree, i also planted at home but already two meters high does not bear fruit well
Thanks, I was very happy to recieve such a gift. It is already grafted, and is supposed to be a self pollinating variety. I really hope the frost tonight doesn't harm it.
Wonder why yours is having trouble?
I tried to grow it at home from the core, but unfortunately the core was rotten. I liked it very much when I saw it like this. What a beautiful gift 😊
I grew up with 4 trees in my yard and am absolutely addicted to them. If its not a grafted tree and just from Seed they will be a unique tree thus might never produce fruit or fruit of any value because each tree is genetically different. All Haus avocados are grafted from one single mother way back onto new seedlings, usually of types that have good root systems.
