Choosing the proper frame in photography - some helpful tips!#1
At the beginning, I would like to mark, that discussed here rules are the introduction and basis at choosing the proper frame, however, none of the photographers measures the distances and proportions below. Through knowledge of the rules (and the practice of these principles) we can or try to develop some kind of intuition and aesthetic sense.
This is the first part of the series of entries, because the subject is so extensive that it can not be explained in a few sentences.
So let's get started!
The right frame requires, as we mentioned above, the good eye and intuition of the photographer and the right composition. In photography, besides the right equipment and feeling, the most important thing is experience, so I recommend that you try as many different shots as possible. The principles and methods discussed here have existed for centuries and are used not only in photography, but above all in architecture, painting, sculpture, music, nature, and even in finance!
WARNING! A small note that will explain later "dots and dashes" in diagrams and photos:
If we want to focus on a given object, it is best to be in the intersection points of the dividing lines, the so-called 'strong points' or along the lines of our division.
The photos used in the entries will be authored or with google graphics for the purpose of explaining the given rule.
#1 CLASSICAL SYMMETRY
At the beginning something easy, and so symmetry. Symmetry, harmony, rhythm are the features of the surroundings and objects, at which the human eye, and above all the human brain, rests. They have been used for millennia in architecture and painting, as well as music.
Pictures with the right choice of lighting come out extremely! We just have to remember to notice, that is the previously mentioned 'sense', is symmetry possible in a given shot? We do not need a proper building for this, we can use the road, street, paths, railways, etc.
Symmetry can also be horizontal.
The end of the first part. Soon there will be another part ...
Provding horizontal and vertical examples is helpful. It's often easy to forget that there are multiple ways to look at a picture.
