Gorgeous Craftsmanship
I enjoy art in its many forms; from sculptures, reliefs, wallart, historical art of unknown master's to master's of architectural design.
Come closer and look...
appreciate up close the craftsmanship with which this gazebo was made...
if you truly stop to enjoy what you pass by you might truly see what you had not even noticed was there.
As you can appreciate this gazebo was clearly done with the intention to enjoy the fascinating skies found in Ponce (Puerto Rico).
Maybe this has some sentimental reason, like a way for a son to honor his departed mother. You see, this plaza was indeed made by a locally famous Ponce son, former Governor Hernandez Colon for not only being who brought him into this world, but as a tribute to Doris Clavell, a pioneer for women's rights of her time.

The lions surrounding the upper part of the gazebo, where most establishments have gargoyles, here they have the symbolic lion that represents the town of Ponce.

It is in these very same grounds of the plaza once stood a hospital called Dr. Pila. It is in these very same grounds where my brother and I were both born almost two years apart. This hospital is now erected elsewhere in a more modern facility. The new hospital is only within walking distance from its former home where cars instead of horse carriages can be parked. This modern necessity I am sure was the reason for the relocation of the famous hospital.

great photos so you are in Florida? I used to have a friend that lived in Wilbur by the Sea. I lost touch with her.
I was in Florida, but this picture was taken in Puerto Rico.
