Celebrities That Ride 2 Wheel Hoverboard Electric Scooters
They are going by many names these days people aren’t sure what to call them some say hoverboard electric scooter or self balancing scooter others attach a brand name like segway hoverboard, IO Hawk or Phunkee Duck or even the generic 2 wheeled hoverboard. Call it what you want celebrities love to ride them. Even if it makes fellow celeb investor Mark Cuban furious.
Mark Cuban claims that he and a fellow business partner are the owners of the design for these 2-wheeled self balancing electric scooters — often given the misnomer of “hoverboard” (I mean they don’t really hover WTF?). Cuban partnered up with inventor Shane Chen, who received a patent back in 2014 for what he labeled a “two-wheeled self-balancing vehicle with independently movable foot placement sections.” Chen originally tried to market the product himself and called it “The Hovertrax” so maybe we can blame him for the word hover being attached to something doesn’t actually hover. Chen went after an infringing copycat and sued a company called IO HAWK but needed Cuban’s vast resources to help win the fight.
To make matters worse the Segway corporation has entered the fray and claims they own patents on the device as well. It seems everyone is trying to make sure they get their cut of a sure to be lucrative market.
In the meantime celebrities are lining up to get their hands and feet on one of these hoverboard scooters, so here is the list of celebrities who riding one:

It is interesting how these hoverboards got so popular so fast and then it was almost like the industry was messed up overnight
