Huge Street Mural by Delia King - "Our Heritage by the Waterway"
Yesterday afternoon, I saw this beautiful and expansive mural that was painted on the side of some dilapidated factory buildings along Arch Street in Royersford, Pennsylvania.
I just had to stop and capture some images of it.
A placard documented that the main artist was Delia King (DSK) and who was (at the time, and maybe still) a member of the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program.
This mural is entitled "Our Heritage by the Waterway" and was completed sometime in 2009.
I was unable to get an all-encompassing photo to show you just how big this mural is - it's on the order of 100 yards in length.
All images @cognoscere and taken on Saturday October 13th, 2018 in Royersford, Pennsylvania (Sony DSC RX100M5)
Wow. What an impressive mural @cognoscere. And great to see that it hasn't been graffitied over given it was created in 2009.
I love how the artists has incorporated the complete shape of the building. It must have been quite a challenge without flat walls.
My favourite bits are the hotel up near the roof and the trains. 😊
It was hard to take it all in . I had to park the car and get out and walk around to get these photos.
I can imagine that @cognoscere.
I wonder if you can find more such murals dotted around Royersford and whether there are many still in tact.
Sounds like it could be a fun way to pass an afternoon . . . mural hunting. 😊
Wow, Such a very impressive wall images @cognoscere.
