Concrete Bag Bridge

Plop a military jeep atop that bridge and it could be a combat scene straight out of WWII.

Meanwhile, back to reality ...

I was walking along a wooded trail with a small stream to my right at Bayonet Farm today.

Just when I was thinking that I should probably turn around, I could see a small bridge that allowed me to cross over and head back in the opposite direction through the fields that flank the other side of the stream.

This little old bridge looks like it was bolstered with sand bags full of concrete. I guess the technique is to stack up the bags and then hose them down, or let mother nature do it for you.

I imagine it's relatively cost effective, and certainly fairly long lasting!
