Gorman Falls At Colorado Bend State Park

Took a little trip to Colorado Bend State Park earlier this week! We were up before dawn to get moving (its a 2.5 hour drive from San Antonio) and it was so worth it. Gorman Falls has been on my hit list forever so it was nice to finally be in Texas long enough to make the trip! Shout out to Kayla who isn't on Steemit for taking us out there, well really shout out to her boyfriend for driving. We snoozed a good portion of the way. Anyways, here's some photos from the hike!

Welcome, welcome! We started the short 1.3 mile hike off with some pretty paintbrush.

He's very tall. He ran into many, many trees.

They're kinda cute. I like third wheelin' cause they're too busy being gushy to care that I'm stopping every 5 mins to snap a photo.

It was a gorgeous day. Unseasonably cool for Texas at a breezy 85 F.

Played with a bit of B&W with the twisted trees.

...and with the pretty colors of the wildflowers. In the springtime this place is HOPPIN' with bluebonnets

It's a simple mile and half straight shot, but she insists on referring to her map every so often...

Repeat of the opener, but I couldn't NOT feature Gorman as the jpeg for this post. It was so damn beautiful. A little oasis after a steep decline. This photo was created using HDR merging within lightroom -still barely does the falls justice.

Bummer was you couldn't jump in to let the water splash down on ya. Gotta love the falls from afar, which is fine with me if they will be there for me to come visit again.

Great hike. Great day. I love the Texas Hill Country. I'll miss it so much when I make the move out to Hawaii later this year.
