It's the complete opposite of the lush winter landscapes here in european mediterranean climate and the desert like landscapes in summer.
it can be very brown in winter in Ireland too ;) No desert landscape though...
I am originally from Germany. There the winters where very very brown and summers green. Here in Portugal its the opposite. Very lush green winter and brown/grey summer..
At least Germany also has a little white in winter ;) We don't have that in the Netherlands (that much).
