Lucky Mill
The Moara cu noroc Restaurant is right in front of the Mill itself, which uses water to grind the wheat of people in the commune and those in the area.
The quality of the flour made here is high due to the processing on the stone and not on the rollers like in the electric mills.
Apart from this old mill, there are many tourist attractions, such as the Wooden Church, the Beaz Dam on the Bega River and the American Walnut Wood and the Red Turkey Oak.
I was lucky to personally meet the owner of the Mill And restaurant Mr. Mezaros because my stepfather did some work here. Being a good carpenter and a friend of the owner, I had the opportunity to see the Mill Restaurant luckily "grow up "but I also listened to the story of the old Mill.
This mill was built in 1917, being the property of an officer from Budapest.
Over time, he had several owners, including Mr. Tocineanu, being then nationalized to IJPIPS and after that in the possession of Metropol. After he had a period of 3-4 years in which he did not function so it was a desolate mill.
After this period when the Mill suffered great destruction, Mr. Mezaros bought the so-called mill, because only mill could not be called this ruin,and it went on its rehabilitation, which lasted about 2 months, currently being open from Monday to Friday.
In 2017, with the 100th anniversary of his Mill, Mr Meszaros tends to introduce the complex into the tourist circuit and succeeds. So the Mill is the 4th tourist destination in Balint commune.
Due to the heavy rains from the last days, which has resulted a massive flooding, this place is momentarily closed, waiting for the Bega River to withdraw its water. And the front restaurant is also closed. But once with its reopening, you can serve all kinds of delicious prepared here.
Balint is located at a distance of 18 km from Lugoj, which can be reached both on the national road DJ 609 B and on the A6 autobahn,following Balint exit.
