Diving in Darkness

in #photography6 years ago (edited)

Diving in the cover darkness is one of my favourite times to dive. The ocean becomes alive with weird and wonderful sea creatures that you usually won't see in the day light. Most of the time I look for squid, although you will see them in daylight its quite hard to get close enough with a macro lens to pull off a nice shot.

Small fish are attracted to dive lights and lucky for me squid love to hunt these small fish, the squid will usually hang on the edge of the beam of light and come in for the kill once the fish are mesmerised by the light.

I've shot these images with a Canon 5D Mark III with Canon 100mm Macro, Aqutica 5DS water housing along with INON strobes and a Weefine Smart Focus 2300 dive light. I would appreciate to know what you think of these photos below in the comments!
