--> When SUVs flew - in pictures, from India
The concept of off-roading is fast catching up in India. While we do have home-grown options like the Mahindra Thar (diesel) and the Maruti Gypsy (petrol), we had never seen enthusiasts spending time and money on exploring their machine's capability to the max.
My close friend runs North India's finest off-roading experiential zone just outside New Delhi. They celebrated one year of success few days back and conducted a 2 day off-roading championship.
From Gypsys to Isuzu V-Cross and Toyota, they were all there. Enjoy the images and if you love them, you know what to do -hit that VOTE button please :)
This is a Mahindra Thar
Another shot of the Thar
At about USD 15000 on-road with all taxes, this is a famous 4x4 in India
The Gypsy costs about USD 10000 but comes without power steering or air-conditioning or other creature comforts
Old school still rocks - not a Thar, but an old Mahindra 4x4
The heavy weights were there too - this one is an old Mitsubishi Pajero
The new and popular Isuzu V-Cross
