My entry for #monochromemonday a tag challange Bu @old-Guy-photos excecuted by me.

Swans are the beautiful large white with the long neck. They are heavy and difficult to ascend. When they take off, they kick with the legs and hit vigorously with the wings. They walk in a wobbling kinda pregnant woman way.

In the Netherlands they are used in the advertisements by the KLM airline company.

The food usually consists of aquatic plants that are sought in shallow water. Their long neck comes in handy here. Due to a lack of plants, a swan also eats small fish such as roaches. If you look at the third photo down you see the green neck they got while searching for green food in the water.

The white swans are by far the most common in the northern hemisphere. The black swan is an extremely scarce breeding bird here. I never seen any in the wild only one pair in the Rotterdam zoo and in a childrens pet farm. The latter are descended from animals from waterfowl collections. They are standing birds, but in the Netherlands or Belgium the young do not survive a tough winter without any help.

With swans there is no difference in plumage between the male and female.

For a long time, swans were regarded as a model of monogamy and unconditional loyalty. However, recent research has shown that it is not uncommon for partners to deceive and even abandon each other. The nest is on the ground or on a mountain of plant material in or on the bank of water. The female hatches on average six pale, plain eggs in 30-40 days . In the meantime the male keeps watch. Males can be quite aggressive when defending their brood. They also do not shy away from approaching people who come too close. According to some, they might even be able to break people's bones, while others believe that this is not possible. The task of the male does not stop at guarding the brooding female: with some species, the male also helps to hatch the eggs.

The nestlings still have a gray or brown down fur and a relatively short neck. Already a few hours after hatching, they can walk and swim. They are therefore nestlings. The parents are kept warm and guarded by both parents for a few months. They look for food themselves. After the winter, the young are chased out of the territory by the parents before they make a new nest.

These are the color pictures I Made of our swan 44 and his family that live near our house in the pond, which i featured multiple times on the Featheredfriday Posts.

The black and white really brings out the contrast of the swan!

I know he look more mysterious, and he was angry that you see too

Very nice! You know I like black and white photos; I definitely prefer the black and white versions over the colour here. The reflection in the water on that second photo is superb!

I was lucky to get the mirror effect

Swans really are elegant, beautiful looking birds but you don't want to get on the wrong side of them, they do have a nasty bite! The black and white photos are pretty cool though, make their elegance look more dramatic somehow!

He was angry but he knows me by now and always makes nouse but i got Some Nice photos eventhough i messed up his morning swim

You managed to perfectly catch the birds in the frame!)

Swans always reminds me of the swan princess. Well it seem they are not monogamous after all.

You know... my oldest daughter and I were having a conversation about the colours of swans today... I was telling her how weird it was having white swans here... when I grew up with black swans being the normal colour!
